Falcon line no 1 is the most modern in UK
This technically advanced coil coating line has been built utilising the latest technology in all close control aspects of the manufacturing process. A new PVC embossing station plus additional pre treatment section has been added to the original line configuration.
This line offers a light gauge range at fast speeds with advantages in computer management, waste / scrap reduction, greater flexibility
and line speed vibration management ensure the production of aesthetically superior products.
Operating up to 200 metres per minute this line assures high volume production without sacrificing quality.
Capacity is approximately 150,000 tonnes per annum.

The Falcon no 1 coil coating line is fitted with non contact X-ray fluorescence paint thickness measurement facilities as well as traditional measuring apparatus used for thicker applied coatings.
Measurement is conducted by exposing the coated material to X - radiation focused in a specific area causing X ray emission or "fluorescence" from both the coating and substrate.
Employing appropriate in line electronics the fluorescence emission from the coating or coating
layers is separated from the substrate fluorescence providing an end measurement of painted layer or film coating thickness.
This advanced technology measuring facility affords Falcon opportunities to consistently measure paint thickness at speed, ensuring accurate, consistent measurement of paint film thickness and colour control.
The Falcon facility includes vast paint storage and transfer technology from paint reservoir to coil coating tray.
Six 25,000 litre stainless steel clad storage reservoirs are sited alongside the coatings plant and hold primers as well as specific paints in popular colours.
This investment reduces the risk of accidental spillage in transfer, improves paint product consistency, increases operational efficiency and has a major effect in the control of environmental hazards.
The Falcon coil coating complex includes an automated cut to length and levelling facility offering its customers an excellent opportunity for service in sheet and blanks meeting industry standards of flatness and shape.
The line is fitted with an Ungerer 17 roll precision leveller and will process coil to sheet or blank from 100mm to 1600mm width and 0.15mm to 2.5mm steel thickness.
Sheet length dimensional capabilities are from 100mm to 4000mm. The Decoiling line is also fitted with a protective strippable film applicator for surface critical, end applications.
Falcon offers a coil wrapping / packing and upending facility to its customers with the ability to handle coils up to 10MT.
